Nathan grew up on Queensland's beautiful Sunshine Coast attending Caloundra High School and perfecting his surfing skills on weekends. In 1992 he headed for the Northern Territory and worked in the stock camps of some of Australia's biggest pastoral companies working his way up to head stockman for the Heytesbury Pastoral Group.

He then commenced his helicopter flight training back on the Sunshine Coast with Blue Tongue Helicopters and gained his Commercial Helicopter Pilots Licence. Heli-Muster in the Northern Territory were more than happy to take Nathan on as a Mustering Pilot as he had spent many years ground mustering the cattle and knew the land well.

Scott Creek in the Northern Territory was to be his main base and from there, he flew thousands of hours mustering cattle and gaining valuable experience in all aspects of aviation and station management.

After five years of mustering in the Northern Territory, he decided to head back south again to Blue Tongue Helicopters to start his Grade II Instructor Rating. Flying part time and running a successful clothes business with his wife, Rose, he eventually completed his Instructor Rating and commenced flight training at Blue Tongue Helicopters. He is now a valuable asset to Blue Tongue Helicopter Services.
